The geographical location of South Africa is 25°43′S, 28°17′E and it lies in the southern hemisphere. South Africa is situated at the southern most part of the African continent and is often called a world in one country, because of its diversity of people, fauna and flora, mild climate and beautiful scenery.
Mountain ranges (are dry and rugged), coastal regions and plateaus (can be found in the interior of the country) are the three major types of land forms in SA. The Karoo plateau is one of the infamous plateaus while the Kalahari Desert lies to the northwest of SA. Sutherland is the coldest region in the country which lies to the west of the Roggeveld Mountains. This country is surrounded by the Indian and Atlantic Ocean which adds to the characteristic climate and natural vegetation in the country. The neighbouring countries include Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Lesotho.
